A Struggle & Disruption in Life


Type 2 diabetes is a result of the body’s inability to use insulin effectively, which is the hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar levels. This condition can lead to high blood sugar levels, which can cause damage to vital organs in the body, including the heart, kidneys, and eyes. Over time, if left unmanaged, type 2 diabetes can lead to serious health complications such as nerve damage, cardiovascular disease, and even blindness.

The impact of diabetes on people’s lives can be significant and disrupt their lives in several ways. Physically, people with diabetes may experience symptoms such as high blood sugar levels, frequent urination, and fatigue. These symptoms can make it difficult to perform everyday activities and can lead to decreased physical movement. Mentally, diabetes can also take a toll, causing feelings of anxiety, depression or stress.

In addition to the physical and mental effects of type 2 diabetes, the financial impact can also be significant. Diabetes often requires ongoing medical treatment, including medications, doctor visits, and specialised care. That can lead to high medical expenses and overextend a person’s financial resources.

In some cases, people with type 2 diabetes may also experience decreased ability to work or may take days off from work, leading to loss of income and decreased financial stability.

Diabetes can have a negative impact on a person’s social life, which can affect their overall wellness. Living with type 2 diabetes may pose several challenges to participating in social activities. For instance, mobility issues or decreased energy levels may make it harder for people to engage in social activities, like going out for walks or participating in group activities. In some cases, people may need to constantly monitor their blood sugar levels which can limit their ability to enjoy social gatherings that involve food.

However, despite these challenges, people with type 2 diabetes can lead fulfilling lives with proper care and support. This support may include working with a healthcare provider to manage symptoms, making lifestyle changes to improve overall health & wellness, and connecting with support groups or working with diabetes coaches. With effective care, helpful resources and practical support, people with type 2 diabetes can have an empowered life with purpose.

My name is Ghamdan, a holistic wellness coach, podcast host and the founder of Wellness Impact. I decided to get involved in the wellness industry as a response to my health issues. My deep passion for health & wellness inspired me to help people who suffer from health issues overcome these challenges and achieve optimal wellness.
